Lighting Expression
Reflection
The theme of my magazine was a remake of Adele’s photo from the single “Hello”. My model was Cole Gouveia. My favorite photo is the profile photo of Cole holding the phone. This photo was difficult to take and it came out very dramatic, that’s why it’s my favorite. We had to play with ISO setting a lot due to the light source being behind Cole. We held a reflector very close to his face so the light would bounce back onto him instead of not being on his face. The photo is very dark and dramatic until you reach his face, then it becomes soft. The photo conveys different moods due to the range of values in it.

Double Exposure
Reflection
1. I choose a photo of Cole from lighting expression and a photo of shingles from my house from the line project.
2. The objects both have depth. The photo of Cole has various points of depth from his hand placement to the telephone. The photo of the shingles has depth between the shingles, which create shadows.
3. Each imagine was put into black and white, with levels adjusted. The shingles photo was originally horizontal, so I changed its orientation to vertical.
4. I followed the same steps that were oven in class on how to merge images.
5. The images relate conceptually because it looks like Cole is in a confined space, and the shingles make that confined space more noticeable.
6. The two pictures merged together create the sense that Cole is in a jail. He is making his one phone call in his cell. The shingles create that "cell" and the black and white tone gives the picture an "old timey" feel.
