Cinderella Through Light
Reflection
For this project I choose the fairytale "Cinderella". I wanted to convey the moment when the Fairy Godmother gets Cinderella ready for the ball. The Fairy Godmother was represented by the hand in the top right corner. To create this effect, I had a student hold a flashlight (to mimick a wand) above the model and spin their hand in a circle. The make it look like Cinderella was transforming into her ballgown, I had the model wear string lights around her waist and hold a sparkly shoe to represent the glass slipper. I wanted to make the model's face the focal point of the photograph. In order to achieve this, I set a longer shutter speed and had the model stay in place for a couple seconds, then spin.
